Data were collected while eight bantam hens undertook four behaviours (eating, digesting, thermoregulating, walking). The model selected was: V̇O2=[8.51 × log(PDBAxz)]+23.84, R2=0.69. The significant effects of individual identity and behaviour were incorporated into the standard error of the estimate (s.e.e.) calculated when using the selected model
