Cover: The background image shows the Brazilian frog Bokermannohyla alverengai placed conspicuously in its natural habitat. This individual had a body temperature of 32°C when found. Insets show (bottom) another frog camouflaged against a lichen-covered rock, (middle) the same frog in more controlled conditions at a low body temperature (20°C), demonstrating very dark colouration, and (top) 30 min later after sitting in the sun, which caused it to warm up to 30°C and rapidly develop a lighter skin colour.
