Movie 1. A simple humanoid model, with no springs or actuators, demonstrates emergent, human-like arm swing when the legs are allowed to swing freely. The movie shows one full cycle of arm leg swing; the last half of this cycle is then looped an additional three times. Note that the oscillation of the model diminishes naturally due to the transfer of energy to the arms, and through energy lost to friction.
