run on a silica thin layer chromatography (TLC) plate with a mobile phase of
n-butanol/acetic acid/water (2:1:1, v/v/v)
(Nishida et al., 2007).
Carbohydrate products were visualised by spraying the TLC plate with 10% (v/v)
sulphuric acid in ethanol and incubating at 120°C for 15 min
(Nishida et al., 2007).
