slice). The orientation of the diffusion tensor's greatest two eigenvectors,
the plane of maximum intra-voxel fiber angle dispersion, is represented by the
end-planes of graphic cylinders derived from a coronal slice of the lingual
core. Contrast was seen between the tongue core, where the planes of fiber
angle dispersion were transverse to the antero-posterior axis of the tongue,
and the tongue sheath, where these planes were approximately parallel to the
