(A) Vesicles were loaded with 200 mmol l^–1 mannitol, 25 mmol l^–1 KCl, 20 mmol l^–1 Hepes/Tris, pH 7.0 and were incubated in media containing 200 mmol l^–1 mannitol, 20 mmol l^–1 Hepes/Tris, pH 7.0, and K₂³⁵SO₄ concentrations from 1 to 50 mmol l^–1. (B) Vesicles were loaded with 200 mmol l^–1 mannitol, 25 mmol l^–1 KCl, 20 mmol l^–1 Hepes/Tris, pH 7.0 and incubated in media containing 200 mmol l^–1 mannitol, 20 mmol l^–1 Hepes/Tris, pH 7.0 and ¹⁴C-oxalic acid concentrations from 0.1 to 10 mmol l^–1. Experiments were in triplicate; values are means ± 1 s.e.m. Lines drawn through the curves were computed using Sigma Plot 10.0 Software (Jandal).
