NOS-like IR is detected around capillaries at the base of C-cells (A: staining at arrows, C-cells at arrowheads). IR against NOS is also detected along the capillaries in the peripheral parts of the light organ (B, arrows) and at both sides of the lens (C, arrows), possibly where the photophore arteries enter the light organ.
