The muscle stress estimated from this regression is 68.5 kPa. The bold, broken line indicates the theoretical maximum performance predicted by the model (200 kPa, assuming an intercept of 11.8). The lighter, broken lines indicate reasonable predictions of normalized muscle stress during suction feeding (Pm) of 50 and 75 kPa, based on in vivo muscle dynamics.
