Note that dopamine caused a dose-dependent elevation in albumen gland cAMP levels between 0.1 and 10 µmol l-1. Dopamine treatment induced a statistically significant elevation of albumen gland cAMP levels at a concentration of 10 and 100 µmol l-1 when compared with untreated control glands (*P<0.001, Tukey test). Forskolin caused a dose-dependent increase in albumen gland cAMP production between 0.1 and 100 µmol l-1 (*P<0.05 and **P<0.001, Tukey test). Note that forskolin is a more potent stimulant than dopamine on albumen gland cAMP production. Bars represent the mean ± S.E.M. of 6 samples.
