A high-speed video recording (250fps, played back at 12.5 fps) of a chukar flying at an incline of approximately 50? while harnessed with accelerometers.
Mov2
A chukar performing treadmill induced wing-assisted incline running (WAIR). The accelerometers mounted on the dorsum of the bird provide measures of the instantaneous acceleration of the center of mass (video captured at 250fps, playback 25fps).

These video recordings document the increased dependence upon wings as chukars traversed inclines ranging from level to vertical. The white square within the ramp denotes the edges of the force-platform that was used to measure ground reaction forces during these ascents.
