Trunk angle ({theta}) is the angle between the trunk’s midline and the first anterior segment of the tail. Curvature for a tail segment ({kappa}) is equal to the angular flexion, {Delta}{phi}, between the neighboring segments, divided by the length of the segment, {Delta}s (Thomas and Finney, 1980).
