The Vapour Pressures of the Blood of Arthropods from Swift and Still Fresh Waters
The vapour pressure of the bloods of individual ephemerid nymphs, trichopterid larvae, and Asellus aquaticus, from varying habitats, has been measured by means of a thermoelectric method which permits the use of less than 1 mg. of blood for each determination. No correlation has been found between vapour pressure of the bloods and oxygen consumption by the animals.
