These images are from two different directions (anterior and posterior). In
the anterior image, the toroid and the cumulus are visible. However, the
horseshoe (H) is not visible because this compartment resides near the
posterior surface. With our optical recording technique, the anterior side of
the AL is always oriented toward the MOS-type image sensors.
